Position Introduction- Grant Funded
The WIC Breastfeeding Peer Helper/ Administrative Assistant will perform job duties for the Special Supplemental Women, Infant and Children (WIC) grant funded program. The WIC Breastfeeding Peer Helper/ Administrative Assistant will provide pregnant and postpartum WIC participants with breastfeeding support. When assigned the Peer Helper/Administrative Assistant will also conduct eligibility screening and perform intake functions to certify participants for the WIC program following guidelines established by the State WIC program. Intake functions include conducting anthropometric and laboratory testing of WIC eligible participants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS:
- Has breastfed an infant exclusively or substantially for at least 6 months.
- Has been a former or current WIC participant or eligible for WIC services.
- Completion of a secondary education or equivalent (high school or GED).
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, basic mathematical ability, and clerical skills
- Customer service skills
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.
Additional Qualifications
- Successfully pass a B.C.I. background check and Drug Screening
- Compliance with tuberculin test requirement per agency TB Plan.

Hours of Work: M – F 8:00 – 4:30
Salary Range: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
