Special Projects Coordinator (PostED 05/12/2023) Resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.
Full-Time position available, 32-40 hours/week, some weekend and evening hours. Salary range $24-$26 per hour; contingent on qualifications and negotiable based on previous experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a bachelor’s degree in health education, public health, emergency services or a relevant field. A valid Ohio driver’s license with ongoing proof of auto insurance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. Ability to learn agency software programs and operate various office equipment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Skills to communicate effectively and culturally relevant in written and oral form. Ability to prepare and document meaningful, concise, and accurate reports. Use proper research methods in gathering data. Project management skills a must.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop emergency plans and conduct emergency exercises as required by public health emergency planning grants. This position will work closely with local, regional, and state partners for the planning, investigation, and response to public health epidemics, terrorism threats, and other natural and manmade disasters. Additionally, this position will be asked to perform public information officer (PIO) duties including social media and website updates along with health education activities.
- Works with the Health Commissioner to ensure public health grant deliverables are completed and submitted on time.
- Assist the Health Commissioner in preparing grant applications and reports.
- Assist Business Manager and Fiscal Clerk with financial reporting.
- Works with local partners and agencies to create, review, and revise emergency plans; ensures that staff are aware of and have access to the plans.
- Ensures the regular training and exercise of emergency plans and procedures.
- Writes and distributes press releases; develops posts for social media and monitors activity; prepares promotional materials.
- Attends local, regional, and state planning meetings, trainings, drills, and exercises.
- Assist with MRC volunteer management and coordination.
- May assist with contact tracing for communicable disease outbreaks.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Provide education on various health topics to the public.
- Participates in Public Health Accreditation activities as needed and required.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Participate as requested in the event of a public health emergency.
- Ensures agency mission, vision, and programmatic success.
- Other duties/projects as requested by the health commissioner.
