Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Health Director, this individual will work in various programs including home sewage treatment systems, private water, nuisance complaints, rabies, and any other environmental health duties as assigned. This individual will perform Environmental Health on-site inspections, provide education and training to achieve compliance, prepare reports which determine compliance with state and local codes, maintain accurate files, assist in preparation of legal or administrative documents, collect field samples, etc.
Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics
- Must have a current certificate of registration as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Environmental Health Specialist-in-Training in the State of Ohio, or EHSIT eligible having obtained a bachelor’s degree including 45 quarter units or thirty semester units of approvable science courses.
- Must have a valid State of Ohio driver's license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Self-starter with ability to organize, schedule and complete assigned work, team player willing to assist co-workers in completion of assignments, ability to work well with the public.
- Proficient in Excel and ARG-GIS preferred.

Salary Range:
REHS: $20.56-$24.67/hr.
EHSIT $18.10-$21.72/hr.
