Public Health Intern/Special Projects Assistant

Part-Time Provisional Intern: Up to 24 hours per week, for 6 months
Rate:  $15.38 -$17.00/hour

Job Duties:         

Assist CCPH staff with the development of the Community Health Assessment/Community Health Improvement Plan updates.  Duties will include primary and secondary data collection, analysis, reporting, and document development.  Participate in agency, community, and regional meetings as needed for the coordination of projects.  Reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

  • Mobilizing and supporting strategies for evidence-based/ promising practice for promoting health, health equity, strategies for protective Social Determinants of Health

  • Population-based health knowledge

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must be working on or have a graduate degree in public health or a related field, including nursing, environmental health, or epidemiology.  Must be a self-starter and independent worker.  Must have good verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Publisher. Experience working with data, including the ability to identify and interpret a variety of data sources. Must have regular attendance. Staff will assist in working with the student on meeting the education requirements needed by an intern, if applicable.

Clermont County Public Health offers a variety of very desirable benefits to all part-time employees:

  • Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) – All employees contribute 10% of their salary to PERS, and the agency contributes 14%. The agency estimated value based on the above salary range from $5,600 to $7,700 annually. Employees do not pay federal social security tax from income; all contributions go directly towards PERS.
  • Deferred Compensation Plans– Employees may contribute to tax-deferred supplemental retirement accounts.
  • Sick Leave – Prorated based on the number of hours worked; Holidays – if falls on a regularly scheduled work day
  • Fleet Vehicle – CCPH provides fleet vehicles to inspection staff and covers all fuel and maintenance. Fleet vehicles are not take-home vehicles.
