ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION
Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for an additional Assistant Finance Officer. Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, public administration or related discipline and five (5) years’ experience in public accounting, or equivalent combinations of training and/or experience. This is a new position to the Finance department and opportunities exist for the right candidate who will work with existing systems to grow the position’s responsibilities.
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
- Analyzes financial statements to monitor agency spending and needed changes in purchase orders; assists with financial management of assigned grants; and handles assigned important vendors including tracking and processing of invoices.
- Assists in preparing needed journal entries and in processing monthly mileage reports.
- Work with the specific Agency staff in tracking and accounting for payments from insurance entities, Medicaid, and private pays from clinic clients.
- Processing and reporting of quarterly Medicaid Administrative Claiming.
- Completes special projects as needed and assists with other finance responsibilities as needed and in times of absence of staff.
- Experience with federal or state grant accounting and/or in government fund accounting is a plus.
