Registered Sanitarian / Sanitarian in Training
Logan County Health District
Job Duties:
- Plans, organizes and conducts inspections for licensed programs of the Health District (food protection, private water systems, household sewage treatment systems, etc.)
- Ensures compliance with health standards, codes, regulations and laws
- Responds to nuisance complaints
- Assists with all environmental programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, public health or related field
- Registered Sanitarian licensed in the State of Ohio or certificate of registration as Sanitarian-in-Training from the State of Ohio; must become a Registered Sanitarian within three (3) years of hire
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Public health laws, regulations and standards
- Environmental health control, testing and code enforcement procedures
- Inspection, collection and analysis techniques and methods
- Biology, microbiology or chemistry
SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO:
- Understand and interpret rules, regulations and standards
- Use and operate computer, inspection and testing devices
- Compile and prepare reports
- Instruct and train others
- Serves on committees, as assigned; attends meetings, conferences, and seminars dealing with environmental health issues, as directed.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
Preferred candidate will have knowledge and familiarity of Logan County to adequately perform job. Must have valid State of Ohio driver's license with appropriate vehicle insurance according to Health District policy.
