Environmental Health Sanitarian

Knox Public Health has a job opening for a full-time Sanitarian in our Environmental Health division.   The responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to: environmental health inspections and investigations of various public and private facilities (e.g., food protection, private water systems, household sewage treatment systems, etc.); performs routine environmental health sampling to determine (non) compliance and (un)sanitary standards; prepares detailed reports of environmental health and sanitation inspections and maintains records regarding investigations.  

Applicant must be a Sanitarian in Training or Registered Sanitarian or meet the requirements of the State of Ohio Sanitarian Registration Board to become a Sanitarian in Training or Registered Sanitarian.  Registration eligibilities can be found at the following link:

Requirements of this position are a Bachelor’s degree or higher in science related field, with 2 years’ experience preferred. Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Word, Excel) & Google docs and have excellent computer skills.  This position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient and accurate manner and the ability to communicate effectively with the public

This position is regular, full-time 40 hours per week, usually in eight (8) hour shifts, subject to a rotating, or flexible day-time shift schedule; may work additional hours, evenings, and/or weekends as required.
