Director of Environmental Health
Ross County Health District
The Ross County Health District is actively seeking a motivated Director of Environmental Health to lead the agency’s Environmental Health Division.
Brief Position Description: Under general direction from health commissioner, plans, develops and administers entire Environmental Health Division and associated programs, supervises subordinate personnel, works with other public officials and groups to promote improved environmental health in Ross County, provides technical assistance to environmental health advisory boards, monitors budgetary matters, writes complex reports and prepares and delivers speeches, performs environmental health inspections.
Pay Range: pay is commensurate with education and professional experience.
Hours: Full-time, Non-Exempt, classified, occasional weekend or afterhours required

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health, environmental health, or related field; Master’s Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field preferred
- Ohio Registered Sanitarian Credential as outlined by ORC 4736
- 5 years of experience in the practice of environmental health within a public health agency; supervisory experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of all environmental health programs, rules, and laws
- Ability to develop, organize, motivate, and coordinate groups.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and organize data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff members, public officials, representatives, and other stakeholders and communicate effectively with various audiences (both in writing and verbally).
- Ability to prepare informative and accurate reports on program progress.
- Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.
- Ability to pass a B.C.I Background Check and Drug Screening.
