POSITION INTRODUCTION
|
Under direction of the Environmental Health Director, the Environmental Health Technician assists with sampling, testing, controlling of vectors, reporting of observations, or other duties that do not require application of specialized knowledge and skills in environmental health science performed under the supervision of a registered sanitarian. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS:
- Completion of two (2) years of undergraduate core programs in environmental health science or related field; one (1) course or three (3) months experience in related science field; or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in science is preferred.
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy. Ability to pass a BCI Background Check and a Drug Screening.
Salary Range: $13.84 - $19.84 Hourly
Hours: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Classified, Occasional Weekend or after-hours required.
