NOW HIRING: Emergency Preparedness Planner
The Emergency Preparedness Planner creates and implements improvement actions for internal and external plans captured from exercises, drills or real world events, documented through the completion of After Action Reports. This position supports FCPH Emergency Preparedness Program (EP) in developing, updating and implementation of emergency preparedness policies, plans, trainings, and briefings as assigned.
Duties Include:
- Performs project management duties in the areas of equipment acquisition, training, exercising, and coordinated response planning for all FCPH grant and local emergency management initiatives;
- Aids FCPH response efforts, including coordination of community trainings including ‘Stop the Bleed’, or others as assigned;
- Conduct trainings for a variety of audiences as assigned;
- Supports Emergency Preparedness internal educational and outreach efforts to educate staff on a variety of topics;
- Assists with writing, editing and collecting documentation to assure compliance with the Public Health Emergency Grant assigned program grants;
- Secures funding sources as needed, recommends grant expenditures;
- Collaborates with community organizations, law enforcement officials, health care providers, EMA, and government agencies, in order to obtain or disseminate information related to the essential position functions; and
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental sciences, emergency management, or related field – Master’s degree preferred;
- One (1) year of directly related experience;
- Completion of FEMA Independent Study Courses IS-100.b, IS-200.b, IS-700.a, IS-800.b;
- Preferred completion of Incident Command System 300, 400 trainings and United States Department of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP); and
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements; some evening and weekend hours required.
Salary: $21.17/hour - $26.46/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
