Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

Join our team!  The Fulton County Health Department is hiring a public health emergency preparedness coordinator.  This position will also contribute to department-wide performance and quality improvement coordination.  Full-time (35 hours/week).  Pay range is $23.77 - $29.28/hr. based on experience.  Paid holidays, retirement benefits, sick and vacation time.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Actively coordinate and participate in emergency preparedness planning and preparation.

Actively participate in real-world public health emergency response as a planner or other position as directed by Incident Commander.

Attend training to assure knowledge of Incident Command System and public health emergency response and facilitate staff knowledge of ICS structure and emergency preparedness.

Maintain staff training records as it pertains to emergency response and FEMA training.

Review, update, and maintain the Fulton County Health Department Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and its annexes.

Develop additional annexes to the Fulton County Health Department ERP as needed.

Coordinate drills pertaining to emergency response and staff safety.

Conduct financial and programmatic tracking and reporting, communicate with all funding sources, complete all necessary documentation, and oversee/monitor all related projects/activities as relates to emergency preparedness. 

Prepare and facilitate or participate in emergency response exercises.

Attend Public Health Emergency Planning meetings at local, regional, and state level.  Acting chairperson of FCHD Public Health Emergency Preparedness Team and Fulton County Core Planning Group/ Healthcare Coalition.

Assure response equipment and supplies are readily available for use and stored correctly.

Completion of Emergency Planner responsibilities as required by the Public Health Emergency

Planning grant or related programs.

Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders in the community to ensure good communications and collaboration regarding emergency response preparedness.

Actively coordinate and contribute to organization-wide processes of performance and quality improvement.

Employees of the Fulton County Health Department are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in tuition reimbursement for undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate course work or professional courses that lead to a degree or professional certification/professional designation that benefits Local Health Departments (LHD’s). Courses must be successfully completed and paid for between December 1, 2022 and June 30, 2025. Reimbursement application deadline is June 10, 2025 or until program funds are depleted, whichever occurs first. Upon acceptance of tuition reimbursement, the individual agrees to complete 2 years of service to an Ohio LHD. Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with emergency management, public health, biology or related focus is required.  Applicants with Master’s degree welcomed.  Bilingual applicants welcomed.
