Plumbing Inspector

The Delaware Public Health District seeks a full time (40hr/week, M-F) Plumbing Inspector 1, 2 or 3 to work in the Environmental Health Division. Individual will review plumbing plans and inspect commercial and residential plumbing installations within the jurisdiction of the health district.

Examples of Duties:

Job duties will include but not be limited to: inspecting plumbing installations, consulting the public on installation and corrective action, reviewing plans prior to installation.

Typical Qualifications

Plumbing Inspector 1:
High school diploma or GED required.  Less than one year experience as a Certified Plumbing Inspector is required for Plumbing Inspector 1.

Plumbing Inspector 2:
One to three years’ experience as a Certified Plumbing Inspector is required for Plumbing Inspector 2.

Plumbing Inspector 3:
Three to five years’ experience as a Certified Plumbing Inspector is required for Plumbing Inspector 3.

The successful candidate must meet the state minimum for application as a State of Ohio Certified Plumbing Inspector (seven years’ of experience in the installation of plumbing, subject to inspection) or already hold this certification. Possession of valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Plumbing Inspector 1 starting pay is $24.55/hr, may be adjusted commensurate with experience.
  • Plumbing Inspector 2 starting pay is $27.55/hr, may be adjusted commensurate with experience.
  • Plumbing Inspector 3 starting pay is $30.55/hr, may be adjusted commensurate with experience.
