Environmental Health Specialist
(In Training or Registered)
Knox Public Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Health Specialist (either In Training or Registered) to join our Environmental Health division. As part of our team, you will play a key role in safeguarding public health in our rural community by conducting environmental health inspections and investigations across a variety of public and private facilities. These may include food safety assessments, private water system evaluations, household sewage treatment system inspections, and more.
The position also involves routine environmental health sampling to assess compliance with sanitary standards, preparing detailed inspection reports, and maintaining thorough records of all investigations. Applicant MUST be an Environmental Health Specialist in Training or Registered Environmental Health Specialist, or meet the requirements of the State of Ohio Sanitarian Registration Board to become an Environmental Health Specialist in Training or Registered Environmental Health Specialist. This position is regular, full-time 40 hours per week, usually in eight (8) hour shifts, subject to a rotating, or flexible day-time shift schedule; may work additional hours, evenings, and/or weekends as required.
