Position: Environmental Health Aide (Intermittent)
Pay Grade: 11
Salary: $17.52
Shift Times: Hours vary based on the needs of Richland Public Health (RPH).
Expected 15-20 hours
GENERAL SUMMARY: May conduct routine activities associated with environmental monitoring and with the control of pests and equipment. Assist in the efficient operation of RPH through general clerical tasks. Shall also perform Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) duties and responsibilities as assigned. Performs other tasks as assigned.
DUTIES:
- Scan documents into software system
- Organize files
- Assist with clerical duties as assigned
Required education, experience, training:
- High School graduate or equivalent required, college students from science background preferred.
- Skill and ability to communicate effectively; plan, schedule, and organize work; prepare accurate and complete reports; classify and organize records; maintain confidentiality; perform all job duties.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to count, calculate and perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Reasoning Ability: Develop logical conclusions from facts and circumstances; apply common sense to carry out written instructions; ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard situations.
- Knowledge of all safety practices (i.e., handling of hazardous materials, proper lifting techniques, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Must maintain valid Ohio Driver’s license and provide proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Represent the health department in a professional manner when dealing with community members.
