Job Posting: Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Specialist-In-Training
The Auglaize County Health Department is hiring for a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Specialist-In-Training (REHSIT).
Role and Responsibilities: Plans and conducts environmental health investigations, log and evaluate data from environmental health inspections and test results. Duties may include but are not limited to inspection, investigation and consultation in the areas of food protection, private water systems, household sewage disposal, public swimming pools and spas, nuisances, recreational parks, rabies, schools, tattoos, vectors, and solid waste to ensure compliance with state and local laws, rules, and regulations. Initiates and recommends enforcement actions and follow-up activities for the above-mentioned programs. Other duties may be assigned.
Experience/Education Requirements: Applicant must be a REHS, REHSIT, or has a Bachelor degree and completed 45 quarter or 30 semester units of science courses which meet the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Revised Code section 4736.08. Must have basic computer/software knowledge. All Candidates must have a valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle.
Salary: Starting rate $18.56/hour for a REHSIT and $21.20/hour for a REHS; salary adjustable based on experience, education, and certifications
