Hamilton County Public Health is accepting applications for a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) III vacancy in the Water Quality Division. The successful candidate will supervise a team of Water Quality Technicians and REHS who conduct community health inspections to ensure compliance.
Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in science, public health or related field and two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in public health; State of Ohio Registered Environmental Health Specialist; Valid Driver’s License and private vehicle for job use.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise a team of Technicians and REHS who conduct onsite inspections of sewage treatment systems and private water systems to ensure they meet required public health standards and local regulations.
Hire new staff, and manage employee performance.
Conduct onsite inspections of sewage treatment systems and private water systems to ensure they meet required public health standards and local regulations.
Supervise and coordinate the investigation of complaints or reports of public health nuisances and disease.
Communicate with homeowners, contractors, and other officials on matters concerning onsite sewage treatment systems.
Work with other officials and agencies in the promotion of improved environmental health.
