NACCHO VIrtual Hill Day Today!

NACCHO Week of Congressional Action
Participate in NACCHO Week of Congressional Action! February 26 - March 2 without leaving your health department and join NACCHO's Board of Directors, State Associations of County and City Health Officials (SACCHO) and the Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC) engaging your Members of Congress on the importance of public health funding and programs. Your colleagues will be educating Members of Congress, and so can you!

The President's FY2019 Budget called for a $1 billion cut to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the elimination of the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which accounts for 12% of the CDC's budget. Tell lawmakers that this will put communities at risk, leaving local health departments less prepared to tackle emergencies, disasters, and outbreaks such as the deadly H3N2 flu. NACCHO has developed an Advocacy Toolkit to assist you in your advocacy activities!

Today is NACCHO's Virtual Hill Day. Tweet at your Members of Congress on February 28 with hashtag #HealthontheHill NACCHO members will be on Capitol Hill February 28, but we want to keep up the visibility of public health all week.
