NOW HIRING- 2 POSITIONS: Food and School Safety Supervisor (RS-III)
Under direction of the Division Manager, the Registered Sanitarian III is responsible for the management and oversight of the food and school safety programs and staff. Coordinates and manages activities of the assigned programs to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable standards, and state and local codes and regulations. Evaluates programs and reassigns work in order to balance workload.
Duties Include:
- Provides direct and indirect supervision, coaching, and oversight to direct and indirect staff with performance evaluations, mentoring and discipline. Leads candidate reviewing, interviewing and providing hiring recommendations.
- Offers administrative oversight for the assigned section. Assists in the development of section plans and performance management goals.
- Implements quality assurance measures to improve program performance. Provides training and standardizes program staff on inspection methods and standards.
- Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities.
- Oversees data management for section. Provides data for reports, assists with budget preparations, and assessment of fees, and annual cost methodology.
- Provides organizational leadership through maintenance and promotion of an inclusive and professional working environment; responsible for downstream communication of and alignment with FCPH goals, mission, and leadership objectives.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, as approved in OAC 4736-8-01;
- Registered Sanitarian with the state of Ohio;
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in environmental public health.
- Experience in Food Safety preferred.
- At least one (1) year of direct supervisory experience or equivalent (e.g., leadership);
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements; some evening and weekend hours required; and
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detailed knowledge of the Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code;
- ServSafe Instructor Certification or equivalent.
Hiring Wage Range: $25.60/hour - $32.00/hour. This is an exempt position.
