Tuition Reimbursement Initiative 2024-2025

Made possible through a grant received from the Ohio Department of Health, utilizing workforce development funds from the CDC.

These funds are to support LHD employees who wish to further their education, enhance current skills, and/or prepare for future responsibilities and roles in public health. Funds are available to support college/university course work or professional courses that lead to a degree or professional certification/professional designation that benefits their agency.

Application Dates

Mid December 2023 – June 10, 2025

Eligibility Period
Courses must be completed by:

12/1/2022 through 6/30/2025 or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first

This new grant will only cover courses completed from December 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025

Under the new program, LHD employees will be able to apply for a maximum of $10,000, total between the two funding opportunities. 

Quick Facts:

  • Qualifying coursework must have been/be completed and paid for between December 1, 2022, and June 30, 2025, or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
  • Deadline for applications is June 10, 2025.
  • Any current LHD employee may apply, with the approval of their health commissioner.
  • Upon acceptance of tuition reimbursement under this program, the LHD staff member agrees to complete 2 years of service to their LHD or another Ohio LHD.

Instructions for Submitting an Application via Survey Monkey:

You MUST have your signed application and fee/course documentation ready to upload BEFORE you begin the Survey Monkey application form. Do NOT begin the survey if you do not have your documentation ready to upload.

Please combine all your documentation into 1 PDF document if possible.

File uploads are limited to 16MB. If necessary, break your file into smaller documents to upload in Questions 14-19.
