Human Resource (HR) Assistant

Knox Public Health

Knox Public Health has a full-time HR Assistant position open in our Human Resources division located at 11660 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to:

  • Maintaining employee records
  • Maintaining record compliance
  • New hire tasks such as:
    • Scheduling interviews
    • Conducting reference checks
    • Schedule pre-employment appointments (drug screens/background checks)
    • Work with Division Directors in creating onboarding schedules
  • Assist as needed with the following:
    • Vital stats (birth/death records)
    • Front reception (incoming/outgoing mail, disbursement of incoming fax)
    • Create fillable forms
    • Work in accordance with the Environmental Health Admin Assistant to collect water samples brought in by the public

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or Administrative Assistant Technology certificate preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office setting
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proficient math skills
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

This position is Regular, full-time 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, subject to a rotating, or flexible, shift; may work additional hours, evenings, and/or weekends as required.
