Human Resource (HR) Assistant

Knox Public Health has a full-time HR Assistant position open in our Human Resources division located at 11660 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to:
- Maintaining employee records
- Maintaining record compliance
- New hire tasks such as:
- Scheduling interviews
- Conducting reference checks
- Schedule pre-employment appointments (drug screens/background checks)
- Work with Division Directors in creating onboarding schedules
- Assist as needed with the following:
- Vital stats (birth/death records)
- Front reception (incoming/outgoing mail, disbursement of incoming fax)
- Create fillable forms
- Work in accordance with the Environmental Health Admin Assistant to collect water samples brought in by the public
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or Administrative Assistant Technology certificate preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office setting
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficient math skills
- Proficient data entry skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

This position is Regular, full-time 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, subject to a rotating, or flexible, shift; may work additional hours, evenings, and/or weekends as required.
