Public Health Accreditation Specialist (contract)

The state of Ohio requires all local health departments within the state to be nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) by 2025. The Galion City Health Department (GCHD) has completed the initial stages of this accreditation process. GCHD is now seeking a Public Health Accreditation Specialist with experience to meet the remaining standards that PHAB determined are presently not considered ‘largely demonstrated’ or ‘fully demonstrated’, after PHAB conducted a site review of GCHD. Once this process is completed, GCHD will be accredited.

Position Summary:

The contractor will work with GCHD staff to meet the requirements in the Accreditation Committee Action Requirement (formerly known as an ‘action plan’) with a deadline of March 2023.

  • Facilitate necessary actions to complete the remaining requirements of the ACAR.
  • Works and communicates effectively with all pertinent staff.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience with working towards public health department accreditation.
  • Must be dependable, organized, possess excellent communication skills, and able to work independently.
  • Must be proficient Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Other:

  • This is a grant funded contract for, with potential for extension.
