Director of Environmental Health/ Deputy Health Commissioner
Delaware Public Health District
The Delaware Public Health District seeks a F/T Director of Environmental Health/Deputy Health Commissioner (DHC). The Director/DHC handles programming and personnel issues at the division level. The Director/DHC is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, leading, and controlling of the Environmental Health Division. Examples of division programs include, Food Protection and Public Safety, Residential Services and Plumbing, Solid Waste and Vector. This position performs with independence in decision-making and reports to the Health Commissioner and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, Public Health, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
- Master's degree in public health, health or business/public administration, environmental health, public policy or other health-related fields is strongly preferred. Substitution: Two additional years of the required relevant experience may be substituted for possession of a Master’s degree.
- Seven to ten years of relevant experience is required.
- Three years of supervisory experience required.
- Registered Ohio Environmental Health Specialist certification is required.
Pay and Benefits:
- Starting pay is $42.05 - $47.00/hour, may be adjusted commensurate with experience.
