Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday. 60-minute unpaid lunch daily. Adjustments to schedule with supervisor approval.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the deputy health commissioner, assists the health district's accreditation efforts toward compliance with the Public Health Accreditation Board's (PHAB) standards and measures, continuous quality improvement, workforce development, and performance management. Assists with the coordination, development, and implementation of accreditation plans and activities, and serves as a liaison for accreditation efforts. This position will work in coordination with the existing accreditation coordinator, directors, disciplines and community partners to collaborate and create a Community Health Assessment (CHA), Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) in accordance with our regular cycles and to support supplemental health data analysis efforts within the health district.

- Responsible for monitoring accreditation performance and financial elements and making recommendations. Maintain activity log in compliance with grant or health district standards.
- Responsible for ordering, distribution, maintenance, and inventory of necessary equipment.

- Collaboration with other health districts, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies to communicate/coordinate accreditation and grant efforts locally and in the West Central Region of Ohio.
- Provide accreditation technical assistance activities through formal training or informal communication. Distribute accreditation materials utilizing various forms of communication to convey accreditation information. Assist with new hire accreditation orientation.
- Responsible for workforce development and monitoring use of professional development opportunities by health district employees.
- Comply with federal, state, and health district policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in professional and workforce development opportunities.
- Policy Development/Program Planning Skills:
- Plan, develop, implement, and update Community Health Assessment and associated assessments.
- Plan, develop, implement, and update Community Health Improvement Plan and associated plans, attachments, annexes, appendices, forms, checklists, and guidelines.
- Use quality improvement (QI) and performance management (PM) processes and/or techniques to improve the effectiveness of the accreditation function including but not limited to: creating, implementing, and evaluating performance standards and identifying, implementing, and assessing QI processes.
- Assure incorporation of plans in the day-to-day operations of the health district.
- Public Health Science Skills:
- Collect documentation for PHAB submission by deadline imposed in the grant or by state law.
- Assist with site visit organization and presentation of site visit results to leadership and stakeholders.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: environmental health, nursing, public health, or closely related equivalent
Master's Degree Preferred, Field of Study: environmental health, nursing, public health, or closely related equivalent
Experience:
Two plus years of experience in program planning, coordination, and service.
Master's degree in community health, environmental health, public health, nursing, or public health with minimum six months' experience providing program planning, coordination, and service will be considered in lieu of required experience.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office, Statistical/Geographic Information Systems required such as ArcGIS for Desktop Basic, SAS/SPSS, STRATA and e-PHAB required.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid driver's license.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200 and 700.a certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Professional office environment. Employees may be exposed to chemical compounds found in the office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.).
Work related travel may subject employees to conditions that range from inclement weather to dangerous conditions such as snow/ice, cold, heat, and sudden temperature changes. Travel may subject employee to increased risk of driving hazards.
Employee in this position may need to relate to members of the public and team members who exhibit challenging, atypical, or hostile behavior and/or communication.
