NOW HIRING: Epidemiologist II
This position serves as an intermediate-level professional epidemiologist, responsible for carrying out a broad and complex range of investigative, analytical epidemiologic activities and spatial analyses of environmental exposure, demographic and health data to evaluate environmental determinants of disease and assess disease rates within defined populations and/or geographic areas.
Duties Include:
- Performs interdisciplinary research and analysis on impacts of climate change on public health.
- Conducts public health impact assessments and performs onsite review of facilities and procedures.
- Plans and conducts environmental public health investigations as part of the Prevention and Wellness division.
- Designs, manipulates, and uses databases for analysis of health problems to assess the potential public health impact.
- Assists environmental health division programs in defining data collection and analysis tools, and study design options to address defined needs.
- Executes ArcGIS apps and creates maps for visualization of data geographically.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A master’s degree with a focus in epidemiology and more than 2 years’ work experience in epidemiology in a public health agency OR
- A doctoral-level degree in epidemiology OR
- Non-epidemiology graduate degree with specific epidemiology training
- Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software in mapping and spatial analysis of data
- Non-smoker
Salary: $25.60/hour to $32.00/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
