Full-time Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to individuals with education, training or experience in Public Health, Emergency Preparedness or similar field

Position requires a valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance. This position is a full-time, 35 hour per week position with some evenings/weekends necessary.   Ashland County offers excellent health insurance benefits, OPERS, paid leave for vacation, sick, and personal time, a health and wellness program, and optional dental insurance.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Complete and submit deliverables as outlined by the Ohio Department of Health and the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant
• Coordinate and direct Medical Reserve Corp #1181
• Create and maintain all facets of the Emergency Operations Plan of the ACHD, as well as supplemental plans
• Participate in local and regional meetings to ensure coordination and collaboration of readiness drills
• Serve as Public Information Officer, as needed
• Organize public health education events (i.e. fair booths, health fairs, etc)
