The Environmental Health Department is seeking a Sanitarian or Sanitarian in Training who will be responsible for independently and effectively conducting inspections and providing education and training as a strategy to achieve compliance of regulated entities pertinent to environmental health codes and healthy practices. Primary duties include: 

• conducting HB 110 contract inspections to determine compliance with Ohio Revised Code Chapter 6111 and Ohio EPA rule, permit conditions and guidance concerning the installation, maintenance, operations of semi-public wastewater disposal systems within the health district. 
• consulting with owners/operators of semi-public wastewater disposal systems and acting as liaison with Ohio EPA Divisions of Surface Water district personnel. 
• educating and consulting with the public health issues relating to sewage. 
• investigating nuisance complaints to assist in the prevention and elimination of hazards to the health of the public

Duties may also include the inspection and enforcement of: food service operations and retail food establishments; private water systems; public swimming pools and spas; campgrounds; animal biting incidents; and other environmental health programs as assigned by the EH Director. 

Qualified Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in environmental health, biology or other science related field of study, a certificate of registration as a Sanitarian or Sanitarian-in-Training issued by the director of the Ohio Department of Health, a valid Ohio driver's license and proof of insurance.
