Registered Sanitarian or Sanitarian-in-Training

Medina County Health Department

The Medina County Health Department, a nationally accredited health department, has an opening in the Environmental Health Division for a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Registered Sanitarian or Sanitarian-in-Training. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with science related coursework (i.e., biology, chemistry, geology, and/or environmental health) which meets the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Sanitarian Registration Act (Chapter 4736 of the Ohio Revised Code). Ohio Registered Sanitarian or Ohio Registered Sanitarian-in-Training eligible.

Inspections and work activities in all other environmental health programs (food service, retail food establishment, schools, pools, general nuisances, tattoos, mosquito control, etc.) as assigned by the Director.

Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access) and GIS is preferred, but not required. Must pass a BCI background check, possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and insurance, and have an acceptable driving history prior to employment.
