Public Health Nurse

Galion City Health Department

The Galion City Board of Health is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Nurse. This is a part-time, up to 24 hours per week position. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:

Under general direction, the public health nurse will provide professional nursing services to the community in a variety of settings. Assigned programs may include but are not limited to: Immunization Clinic, BCMH (Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps), school nursing, child passenger safety, communicable disease reporting, and health education.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A valid nursing license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing (RN)
  • A valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license/ insurance
  • A valid CPR card
  • Basic computer literacy (email, internet, MS Office Suite)

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  •      Basic knowledge of Public Health
  •      Basic knowledge of school health/school nursing
  •      Knowledge of Communicable Diseases
  •      Experience in community health and/ or health education
  •      Knowledge of childhood and adult immunization requirements
