Nursing Director

Brown County General Health District

Salary: Please list desirable salary; salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Benefits: Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.

Work Hours: M – F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Evenings and Weekends as needed or assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a licensed registered nurse pursuant to ORC Section 4723.01.
• A valid Ohio driver’s license with proof of auto insurance.
• Current CPR certification.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN with public health experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate and educate clients in health matters.
• Ability to prepare concise and accurate reports.
• Ability to work cooperatively with administration, peers, state personnel and the public.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrate competence in utilizing computers and related equipment.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plans and administers public health nursing operations
• Provides supervision of staff composed of public health nurses.
• Participates in immunization program, tuberculosis control, monitors and reports all communicable diseases as required by state law.
• Actively participates in agency accreditation efforts.
• Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with related state and local agencies and public health preparedness partners.
• Develops and provides information for press releases and public presentations on public health issues.
• Works cooperatively with Agency Administration and provides nursing division information to the Board of Health monthly.
