Full Time Nursing Administrator/Director of Nursing

Lake County General Health District

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists the Director with planning needs for all nursing programs.

Provides assessment of current and future needs, makes recommendation for change.

Available for after-hour calls regarding public health disease or public health emergency.

Provides clear direction and leadership to staff.

Continually assesses client needs, service output, and quality programming.

Promotes responsible fiscal management of budgets and budget guidelines as dictated by grants, budgets and other

financial considerations.

- Monitors expenditures on grant program budgets as directed.

- Assumes grant project management as directed.

- Evaluates new products, confers with Director regarding purchases.

- Implements required goals/objectives of program grants.

Systematically collects comprehensive and accurate data that reflect community, family and individual client health care

needs.

- Participates, as directed, in community health assessments.

- Identifies behavioral/cultural patterns which influence client services. Makes

recommendations for program adjustments.

- Assures client/program records are properly stored, recorded, and maintained to meet

document standards of the health district, medical record risk management standards and

confidentially issues.

- Sets exemplary model of nursing documentation in own practice and supervises staff in this area.

- Applies community health standards as basis for practice.

Assures the working environment is properly maintained for the safety and security of the staff and the clients.

Assures quality health care services are provided by implementing and monitoring quality assurance plan.

Maintains professional competence of staff through on-going education.

Duties also include responsibility for program planning, policy development, and interagency coordination that improve

the availability and quality of medical/dental/mental health services and the cost-effectiveness of the health care delivery

system.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises at least two employees and volunteers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the

organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing

complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree and experience in a

related field such as Maternal and Child Health. Also requires three or more years of clinical practice with an emphasis on

Public and/or Community health.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Registered Nurse license (Ohio)

Current CPR certification

Current Ohio Drivers License

Pay Rate:

$26.24 - $28.13 per hour based on experience
