Employment Category: Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00-4:00 occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Pay Range: Based on experience.
Grant Funded: Yes, continuation of position may be dependent upon grant funding.

Essential Duties:
- Maintains oversight of health education programs including Project DAWN; Early Childhood Safety Initiative; Ohio Buckles Buckeyes
- Coordinates, facilitates, and provides community education and outreach initiatives
- Conducts training sessions on relevant topics for the community and MCHD staff
- Administers pediatric and adult immunizations and provides pregnancy testing and vision, hearing and health screenings as needed in the nursing division
- Supports communicable disease surveillance, investigation and mitigation as needed in the nursing division
- Coordinates, implements, and evaluates health education to prevent, limit transmission, and control the spread of infectious diseases
- Represents agency programs in the community on local councils and coalitions. Serves as a public health resource in the community
- Creates resources to improve health literacy and health awareness
- Assists in efforts to inform and educate about public health issues and functions provided by the agency (including print and social media)
- Delegates duties to staff to ensure continuity of operations and to maintain responsible budget planning.
- Ensures all required workforce development trainings for MCHD staff are completed as required.
- Participates in the accreditation process as it relates to health education and promotion. This includes acquiring knowledge of PHAB domains and policy development.
- Manages any grants received for health education programs and collaborates on pursuing additional programs and necessary funding sources including the writing of grants.
- Assists the Administrator in formulating and administering organizational policies and developing long range goals and objectives including successful implementation of Morgan County Health Department (MCHD) Strategic Plan Goals.
- Provides data and reports for Administrator review regarding progress on goals.
Minimum Experience/Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license (RN) as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing preferred
- Prior experience in public health preferred
- Basic Life Support certification
- ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 training or ability to complete ICS training within 6 months of hire.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with ongoing proof of auto insurance and be able to travel with reliable transportation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Mathematical aptitude necessary to assist in developing program budgets and monitoring expenditures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
