Employment Category: Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00-4:00 occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Pay Range: Based on experience.
Grant Funded: Partial

Essential Duties:
- Maintains oversight of nursing programs including Communicable Disease Surveillance, Investigation and Mitigation; Children with Medical Handicaps; Immunization Clinic; hearing & vision screenings; pregnancy testing; health screenings; Tobacco Cessation program and the Morgan Local Schools Family Liaison program.
- Delegates duties to staff to ensure continuity of operations and to maintain responsible budget planning. Effective delegation and time management will further assist in limiting liability to both agency and licensed professionals. This may include utilizing non-licensure staff in the performance of duties not requiring a nurse.
- Trains MCHD staff on HIPAA compliance and bloodborne pathogens.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners to improve immunization rates.
- Participates in the interview and employment phase of nursing division staff; ensures training, scheduling, and evaluations of staff are completed as required.
- Participates in the accreditation process as it relates to nursing. This includes acquiring knowledge of PHAB domains and policy development.
- Manages any grants received for preventative nursing programs and collaborates on pursuing additional programs and necessary funding sources.
- Assists the Administrator in formulating and administering organizational policies and developing long range goals and objectives including successful implementation of Morgan County Health Department (MCHD) Strategic Plan Goals.
- Provides data & reports for Administrator review regarding progress on goals.
Minimum Experience/Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license (RN) as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing preferred
- 5 years prior experience in public health preferred
- Basic life support certification
- ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 training or ability to complete ICS training within 6 months of hire.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with ongoing proof of auto insurance and be able to travel with reliable transportation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Mathematical aptitude necessary to assist in developing program budgets and monitoring expenditures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
