Description: Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) is seeking to hire a full-time Health Equity Coordinator primarily within the Administrative Services Division.
FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Director of Administrative Services, the Health Equity Coordinator will develop community and organizational goals and objectives to address, reduce, and eliminate health disparities and inequities. The Health Equity Coordinator will participate in internal teams in the design, coordination, and implementation of organizational changes to policies, procedures, and community outreach efforts across LCPH divisions and programs. Community collaboration focused on health equity policy, systems, and socio-economic change is also a key focus of this role. A person in this position will be responsible for planning for and meeting deliverables associated with various grant requirements.
JOB DUTIES
MAJOR WORK CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of: health equity in public health trends, data management and analysis, program evaluation, advanced written and oral communication skills, excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
Ability to: demonstrate understanding of organizational dynamics, influence broadly to achieve desired outcomes, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, be self-directed to lead a new position, meet deadlines, be detail oriented and highly organized.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in public health, human resources, or closely related discipline. At least one year of underserved population policy practice/involvement or related experience and/or have lived experiences within a vulnerable population.
Able to lift 25 pounds. Possession of a valid driver’s license for the State of Ohio with reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three to five years of relevant experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work or related position, and/or have lived experiences within a community of color or other vulnerable population. Previous experience in facilitating meetings, database management, grant/program reporting, and/or general administrative duties.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time (40 hours/5 days per week) position with usual hours M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends. A person in this position will be expected to respond to public health emergencies and perform similar administrative duties.
SALARY: $28.04-$35.78/hour
