Nursing Director

Coshocton City Health Department

Nursing Director $26-$28/hr

Supervises and directs the activities of the public health nursing personnel; Plans, develops and implements new public health nursing services programs; evaluates and implements changes to current public health nursing services programs; Available 24/7 for consultation related to bioterrorism/public health management; Prepares or assists with the development of financial and personnel reports, surveys, policies and procedures for the Health Department; assists with the preparation of the Health Department Annual Report; assists Ohio Department of Health personnel with review and evaluation of the agency; Provides or assists with providing health education to the public, working with Health Department PIO for mass education projects; informs public of health services available to them from the Health Department; Active use of Ohio Disease Reporting System (ODRS), Ohio Impact SIIS, Ohio Contact Tracing System, maintain/input data; Uses acceptable methods and standards to ensure data are complete, accurate and timely; Assists in investigation and control of infectious disease and related concerns (e.g., makes phone calls to abstract epidemiological health data from confidential medical records of hospitals, clinics &/or physicians & through personal interviews of affected persons; establishes exposure & evaluates risk of disease or epidemic), collects &/or monitors collection of human biological & environmental specimens, assures delivery to laboratory; assures that appropriate case definitions are utilized in case investigations & writes or assists in writing reports of investigations; Assists in contact tracing/identification of close contacts of confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19; Monitors cases and contacts of COVID-19 cases; Ensures regular communication with nursing, environmental health and other local health jurisdiction staff in the areas supported, and with infectious disease reporters (i.e., physicians, infection control practitioners, schools, veterinarians, laboratories);Assists in epidemiologic response issues among LHDs in the assigned jurisdiction and within the region; participates in LHD(s) incident command structure; Assists with preparing materials that can be distributed to the media, patients or the general public regarding the outbreak or disease under investigation; Works with other LHD staff to improve disease reporting in the jurisdiction; Communicate with epidemiology colleagues within the region; Available some weekends for COVID-19 response; Assists with training staff for contact tracing and disease investigation; Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: Must complete post-secondary education in Nursing.  Must possess a current Registered Nurse license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.  Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have 3 to 5 years’ progressively responsible experience, or 3 to 5 years’ experience in public health, health services administration, public health administration, social work, nursing or a related field.  Must have current CPR certification.  Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
