Delaware General Health District

The Delaware General Health District seeks a F/T Epidemiologist 1 to perform duties related to communicable disease investigation in the Personal Health Division.  Under limited direction, this position conducts epidemiologic investigations used in the prevention and control of communicable diseases.  Investigations are designed to identify, analyze, and report public health issues and problems, resulting in improved monitoring of health status and its correlates, identification of trends or outbreaks of diseases or other adverse health events, provision of data and information about corrective actions or programs to alleviate adverse health effects, and proposal of practices or policies based on such data and information that will promote and protect public health. 

Requirements:

Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or other related field.  Less than one year relevant experience required. A bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field AND completion of graduate level courses in epidemiology and biostatistics may be substituted for possession of a Master’s degree.
