Public Health Nurse

MIAMI COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH

Division:  Nursing
Reports to:  Director of Nursing

Position: This position is temporary to assist MCPH with the COVID-19 response.  The position is for six months but could end prior to that time period due to funding or needs of the department.

Hours:  40 hours per week, some weekend and evening hours
Salary:  Range $19.13-$29.68 per hour commensurate with experience and skills
Project Duration: Up to six months

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse is responsible for performing nursing duties related to Communicable Disease surveillance, administration of vaccines for all age ranges (infant to adult), maintenance of patient medical records, participation in emergency response, and other related duties as requested by the Director of Nursing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form, be able to work independently as well as within a team and have an appreciation for public health and its role in the community.  Must be able to prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports.
