TITLE: Public Health Sanitarian III (PR#03159)
PAY BAND: $53,892.80 – 56,326.40 Annually
WORK LOCATION: Public Health Environment, 75 Erieview Plaza
NUMBER TO BE HIRED: Two (2)
SHIFT: Monday -Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
UNION: AFSCME – LOCAL 100
Job Duties:
Inspects and enforces Public Health Laws concerning food service and food handling operations, swimming pools, barber shops, hotels, motels, laundries, trailer parks, marinas, and schools. Answers and investigates nuisance complaints dealing with buildings/dwellings/vacant lot sanitation, weed control, solid waste control, and vector control. Is involved in surveying for rodent problems and baiting rat burrows, etc. Assists in the training of entry level sanitarians and, as needed, assists supervisor in the administration of district activities. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor Degree with 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours in Science, Math, or Chemistry from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
Two years of full time paid experience as a Registered Public Health Sanitarian is required. A valid State of Ohio Driver License is required. Must own or have access to a properly insured vehicle.
