Kent City Health Department

The City of Kent, Ohio seeks a key member of the City’s leadership team to serve as the Health Commissioner. The Health Commissioner reports to the Kent Board of Health which serves as the Kent City Health Department (KCHD) governing body. The Health Commissioner is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing a program of preventive health modalities, providing environmental health control and inspection services, coordinating area health services, managing contracted functions, serving as incident commander in a public health emergency, and such other related tasks as required for the Kent Board of Health’s jurisdiction.

Bachelor’s degree in hard sciences, public health, or a related field is required. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Additionally, any combination equivalent to a minimum of five years of management experience in a public health or healthcare setting; or any equivalent certification, experience or training which provides preferred knowledge, skills and abilities mentioned above.
