JOB OPPORTUNITY
Division: Human Resources
Position: Clerk – Up to Two (2) Positions (37 Hours Per Week)
               Clerk – Up to Two (2) Positions (21-28 Hours Per Week)
Pay Grade: 9
Salary: $13.07 per hour
Shift Times:  8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday-Thursday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Friday. May also work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays.

General Statement of Duties: Promotes and supports population health by providing a variety of clerical, administrative and technical support services to internal and external customers.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  1. High school diploma or GED, with course work in office practices and procedures, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  2. Skill and ability to present a positive image to the public; communicate effectively; answer a telephone and transmit messages; perform basic bookkeeping duties; proofread and edit for content, grammar and spelling; calculate fractions, decimals and percentages; arrange items in alphanumeric or subject order; operate a personal computer; type/data entry; operate office machines (photocopier, FAX, postage meter, shredder, etc.); maintain confidentiality; perform all job duties.

Required education, experience and training:

  1. Ohio Train 700 a., 100 b., 200 b. and 800 b. certification (or as amended) must be completed within sixty (60) days of employment.
  2. Knowledge of office practices and procedures; correct use of grammar, punctuation and spelling; telephone system equipment and operations; basic bookkeeping; basic computer program software; billing/medical billing experience preferred.
  3. Ability to work effectively with people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational levels.
  4. Knowledge of the core functions and essential services of public health.
