Position: Classified, benefits-eligible based on hours

Hours: 32 hours per week

Salary: Range is $15.29-$28.81 per hour commensurate with experience and skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Help Me Grow Supervisor or Director of Nursing, the Help Me Grow (HMG) Home Visitor will provide family-centered, strength based and supportive home visiting services to pregnant women and new parents in accordance with Ohio Rule. The Home Visitor will conduct home visits utilizing the evidence based Healthy Families America (HFA) Home Visiting model and the Growing Great Kids (GGK) Curriculum. The Home Visitor works with families to support them in promoting healthy growth and development for babies and young children to the age of 3 through parent education, developmental screenings and linkage with local resources as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Associate's Degree in human services or a field related to working with prenatal women, infants, toddlers and families.
Must obtain and maintain a Help Me Grow Home Visitor Credential with the State of Ohio.
A valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets the insurability requirements of the District’s insurance provider. Must be able to provide a private vehicle for job use.

Preferred:

Current HMG Home Visiting Credential with at least one-year home visiting experience or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood or a related field.
Experience/Training in working with the HFA Home Visiting model and the GGK Curriculum

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

An ability to establish trusting relationships and acceptance of individual differences
Experience and willingness to work with culturally diverse populations
Knowledge of infant and child development and screenings
Open to reflective practice (i.e. has capacity for introspection, communicates awareness of self in relation to others, recognizes value of supervision, etc.)
Considerable knowledge of client interviewing, counseling, education techniques, Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations, community resources and services, human and public relations as well as case management.
Use of modern office equipment and software including use of computer for state required data entry.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form and demonstrate the ability to prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports.
