Full-Time Public Health Nurse- School None position available, 32-40 hours/week. Salary $21-$26
per hour. Fringes include OPERS, Mandatory Medicare, Workers Compensation, paid sick time, vacation
after probationary period. Holiday pay will be honored for holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.
Summers off June-July.
Qualifications: Must be a licensed nurse pursuant to Section 4723-13 of the Ohio Revised Code. Valid Ohio
driver's license with ongoing proofofauto insurance. Current CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge ofMS Word, Excel software, and the ability to learn
agency software programs. Ability to operate various office equipment.
Job Responsibilities: Public Health Nurse primarily functioning as a nurse within a school setting during an
academic school year, (August-May). The nurse will function within the scope of nursing under the direction of
the School Nurse Team Lead.
• Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team to coordinate
the delivery of school health services to staff and students within a school district.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, parents, and school staff to implement plans
of care for students with chronic disease and special needs.
• Ensure compliance with immunization requirements and reporting.
• Provide pediatric and adult immuni7.ations.
• Perform required screening and referrals and assist families with services and resources.
• Delegation and training of unlicensed school personnel.
• Collect school health data to use for evaluation and planning. Identify health issues that
need to be addressed and contribute to the improvement of policies, programs, and services.
• Promote wellness initiatives that improve health and school performance.
• Provide CPR instruction to the community.
• Provide education on various health topics to the public.
