Letter of Intent LOI Request - Public Health Apprenticeships
CDC's Office of State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support, Workforce Development Branch is seeking proposals for 50 field-based assignments for the Public Health Apprentice Program (PHAP), a two-year workforce development program that provides opportunities for entry-level staff who show promise as future managers to gain broad experience in the day-to-day operation of local public health programs. The goal of PHAP is to prepare exceptional candidates for careers in public health operations and management. Upon completion of two years of work experience as an Apprentice, participants will be qualified to compete for entry-level career positions as CDC Public Health Advisors and equivalent positions in public health operations at the state, tribal, local and territorial levels.
Assignments will begin on or about July 18, 2010. Information about PHAP is available on CDC’s Internet site.
The deadline for the two-page LOI is March 26, 2010 (Midnight EST). Organizations with accepted LOIs will be invited to submit a full application detailing the assignment.
