The Williams County Health Department is seeking applicants for a full time WIC Director.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 - 5:00, with occasional evening clinics. This position is full time at 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: $24.89 – $27.46/hour Commensurate with experience. The Williams County Health Department offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, vision and dental insurance, enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, and paid time off for vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Administers the WIC Program in the following areas: daily operations, grant budget, participant certification, nutrition education, breastfeeding education and support, food issuance, outreach activities, clinic and staff scheduling, and prepares annual grant application.
- Supervise and trains WIC staff
- Delivers nutritional services under the WIC program for low and high risk participants.
- Develops individualized care plans to meet WIC participant needs by assessing and counseling clients on relevant nutritional issues.
- Manage breastfeeding support services and nutrition education program of WIC program.
- Oversees food and formula prescriptions and coordinates with medical providers as appropriate.
- Forms partnerships within the community.
Minimum Experience/Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian (LD), Registered Nurse (RN) or 4-year nutrition/dietetics graduate. Ohio Licensed Dietitian preferred
- Prior experience in maternal and child nutrition including breastfeeding education.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated management experience preferred
- Experience in grant writing and budget management preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance
- CPR certified or may obtain after hire
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must have computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Must have willingness to learn new skills, be adaptable/flexible
- Must have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity
