Hours: Full-time, M - F 8 am - 4:30 pm
Starting Salary: A48 $25.84 - $35.54/hour; $53,747.20 - $73,923.20 /annual
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration with 4 years relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Public Health, Public or Business Administration with 2 years relevant supervisory experience; or 10 years’ experience in supervisory/management of health-related program;
- Current Valid Ohio Driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten years’ experience in community organizing.
- Knowledge of government policy and law process
- Advocate of health equity
- Strong understanding of the root causes of inequities and the social determinants of health and capacity to educate others
- Experience addressing inequities in a range of political and professional environments
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Serve as a liaison by establishing, promoting, and maintaining a collaborative long-term partnerships with various community agencies and groups and governmental entities in the implementation of and operations of the coalition in the establishment of a local office of minority health targeting health disparities in the communities; Develops policies and strategies to support health efforts and advocates for the implementation of strategies and policies to reduce health disparities within the community;
- Makes public speaking appearance regarding the coalition and health disparities in Montgomery County; Acts on behalf of Ohio Commission on Minority Health;
- Have a track record demonstrating the courage and compassion to honestly lead difficult conversations, coupled with the sensitivity and talent to constructively engage partners to ultimately become part of the solution
- Responsibilities include but not limited to coordinating the functions of multiple community based agencies programs; identify populations and the need of the target populations by monitoring health status
- Facilitate health education programs addressing health disparities to empower target communities.
- Mobilize community partnership to make recommendations and establish coalition strategies to improve health of target population; and grantsman ship.
- Assists in and develops educational materials which meet the needs of agency service providers and is considerate of various educational, ethnic and socio-economic levels and community groups; Administers, coordinates, or completes special projects including grant writing;
- May be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours
