Job Duties:

This is a full time position in the Environmental Health Division and the duties will include but not be limited to:

• Conduct inspections and complaint investigations on food operations, swimming pools/spas, body art facilities, campgrounds, schools, institutions and manufactured home parks
• Investigate animal bite reports of the Rabies Prevention Program
• Prepare and document inspection reports; maintain accurate files and other office records
• Collect samples as assigned
• Conduct education presentations to promote improved environmental practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health or related science (Biology, chemistry, etc.) which meets the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Sanitarian Board in accordance with Chapter 4736 of the Ohio Revised Code
• Ability to obtain Sanitarian-in-Training (SIT) status and become a Registered Sanitarian (RS) within 2 year of employment
• Current RS or SIT registration preferred
• Required to have basic computer skills, including e-mailing, Microsoft office suite and the ability to learn new computer software
• Must be able to work with public on daily basis
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Required to have regular and predictable attendance
