Public Health Nurse I /II (Part-Time)

Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County

Department: School Health

Hours: Part-time Position (20 hours)

Starting Salary:

I $20.91-$28.77/hour         

II $23.68-$32.58/hour              

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• School Nurse Licensure or qualifications to obtain Licensure
• Current valid Licensure from State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse
• Current valid Ohio driver’s license & access to a motor vehicle (mileage is reimbursed at IRS rate)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with school age children/pediatrics and knowledge of school health procedures

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Performing health screenings
• Assessing patient and developing a plan of care
• Immunization record review and follow-up
• Administering medication and treatments
• Recording patient care and progress regularly
• Documenting data and generating reports and completing appropriate forms as required
• Providing educational sessions for students and faculty
• May be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours
