S.I.T. - Sanitarian

Ross County Health District

Sanitarian functions as part of the Environmental Health (EH) Team.  Conducts Environmental Health inspections and investigations.  Provides education and training as a strategy to achieve compliance of regulated entities.  Responsible for performing routine and complex inspections, testing, sampling, and vector control duties in the private water system program, sewage treatment system program, public swimming pools,  spas program, and the public health nuisance programs.  May also have responsibilities in other environmental health programs implemented by the health district as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree with at least 45 quarter units or 30 semester units of science courses.

Ability to work some evening, weekends, and possible holidays.

Licensure or Certification Requirements:

Must have a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and remain insurable in accordance with the agency’s insurance policy.  Ability to pass a B.C.I. Background Check and Drug Screening.

Sanitarian-In-Training must possess a Certificate of Registration as Sanitarian -In-Training issued by Ohio’s Board of Sanitarian Registration in accordance with Chapter 4736 of the Ohio Revised Code or applicant must have a Registered Sanitarian’s License.

This is a full-time position and salary is pending experience.
