The Williams County Health Department is seeking applicants for a full-time Director of Health Education and Preparedness.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30-5:00. This position is full time at 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: Commensurate with experience. The Williams County Health Department offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, vision and dental insurance, enrollment in Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, and paid time off for vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Directs the Community Health Division and ensures the implementation of population-level health strategies, interventions, and programs
- Assesses individual and community health education needs and plans health education strategies, interventions, and programs by collecting and accessing data
- Involves community partners and staff in program planning
- Plans, implements, and organizes public health programs and activities
- Conducts evaluation and research related to health education by developing plans for evaluation and research.
- Serves as health education resource by responding to requests for information
Minimum Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health education/promotion or related field, Master’s Degree Preferred; minimum three (3) years prior experience in developing health education programs and/or delivery of health education; supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience; if a health professional, must be graduate of accredited program.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated management experience preferred
- Experience in grant writing and budget management preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance
- CPR certified or may obtain after hire
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must have computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Must have willingness to learn new skills, be adaptable/flexible
- Must have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity
