What:

The Franklin County District Advisory Council is currently accepting letters of interest from people who would like to serve as a member of the Franklin County Board of Health. This Board oversees Franklin County Public Health.  This Board member will fill a five-year term that expires in 2024.

How to Apply:

Interested parties are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and qualifications to: Franklin County District Advisory Council, c/o Franklin County Public Health – Alycia Burkitt, 280 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215 or to alyciaburkitt@franklincountyohio.gov.    

Nominations will also be taken from the floor during the Franklin County District Advisory Council Meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at the Boathouse at Confluence Park, 679 West Spring Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Interested parties are encouraged to attend. 

The appointment will be made with regard to equal representation of all parts of the Health District. The District Advisory Council may consider the applicant’s place of residence and employment.  

Meetings and Responsibilities:

The five-member Board of Health meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. at 280 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Board Members are compensated $70 per meeting.  

The Board of Health has fiduciary authority over the agency’s $10 million dollar budget and is the policy-making, rule-making and judicatory body for Franklin County Public Health. Board members provide support for the agency’s work to fill the role of chief health strategist for our community’s public health system.
