Data Analyst
Cuyahoga County Board of Health
Position to be filled: April 1, 2019
Salary: $53,968.00 annually
Hours: Mon. – Fri., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, public health, or related field required along with three (3) years of related experience including; data analysis, data management & manipulation, query writing (i.e., SQL or techniques), report writing, and database design.
- Experience should include programming, database design & administration, public health informatics, and conducting program evaluation.
- Familiarity with web-based project management and file sharing platforms (i.e., Basecamp, Dropbox, etc.)
- Ability to efficiently multi-task on a daily basis.
- Working knowledge of relational database software/applications (i.e., REDCap, etc.), data search and export tools (i.e., Census), and office support software (i.e., Adobe).
- Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills.
- Proficiency with using data management/ statistical analysis software (i.e., SPSS, SAS, ArcGIS, and/or EpiInfo). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide data support for a collaborative community health assessment process across the Northeast Ohio region. Support includes data curation and integration into a web-based platform.
- Train internal and external partners on the use of the web-based platform.
- Work closely with project manager from The Center for Health Affairs to support data needs.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software, other software, and manual manipulation techniques. Interpret and present results to CCBH staff and stakeholders using graphs, charts, etc.
- Extract and manipulate data from internal or external databases on a routine and ad hoc basis. Develop and deliver reports & presentations to CCBH service areas and stakeholders.
- Create and review databases, clean data to be analyzed calculate and interpret descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Respond to data requests and prepare reports and presentations for CCBH programs, stakeholders, public health related issues, and community concerns.
- Secure and maintain data sources used to support programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or the Service Area Director.
- Participate as needed or requested in the event of any public health emergency.
